· 75% Tinto Fino
· 20% Cabernet Sauvignon
· 5% Albillo
· 1.755 bottles (75 cl.)
· 39 Magnum (1,5 l.)
This wine comes from an unpublished ensamblage. Tempranillo Blend and Albillo (originals only old vines of red clay and fine sand with cantillos surface) with Cabernet Sauvignon (from our estate La Planta limestone soils that are very nearly limiting for growing grapes ).
The two plots have in common the high altitude is around 900 m). Minimum yields almost meager and a long growing season, these vineyards have made full maturity with a legendary balance.
The grapes arrived in 14 kg plastic crates and from there they went on to a sorting table placed by the deposit. Albillo and Tinto Fino grapes were run into the deposit with the stem. Once into a 6000 litres wooden barril the maceration lasted several days at 16 ºC. This allowed a very regular alcoholic fermentation nearly at 28º C.
After 17 days remaining in the wooden barrel and daily treading, the wine was run off into new oak barrels. These French barrels with fine grain come from the prestigious forests of Bertranges and Chatillonais.
After malolactic fermentation the ageing was carried out on its fine lees, in order to obtain unctuous, creamy and deep hints. 20 months of ageing produced a natural decanting, and no need for stabilization by means of physical nor chemical processes. The wine making process and bottling are done by gravity and without filtering. These events allowed to keep its structure, splendour and also its fineness by which BODEGAS ARZUAGA NAVARRO are well known.
VISUAL: The wine has a cherry red glow filled with violet tones. It has a very high and deep layer.
NOSE: A great aromatic palette fills your senses. A few ripe black fruit aromas with scents of cedar assemblies and start snuff them are a mixture of cocoa and aromas of wild flowers, accompanied with such unmistakable spices of these terroirs. All wrapped up with a "unique" floral nuances and we found every year in this wine.
MOUTH: It is powerful and fleshy, noting length unsurpassed. The structure fills the mouth with silky feeling and tension that shows great class. All this tannic power is accompanied by these flavors of ripe fruit and fine notes of Russian leather.
This is a wine that can seem austere but already expressing extraordinary qualities and reveals a fabulous potential.
