This wine is native from very old vineyards, situated in two plots of different but complementary soils. The soil that bestows the structure and color is located on an east-west hillside, with small pieces of sandstorm and alluvium stones settled over sequential stratums of clay. The other soil, which gives dynamism and joviality is the limestone (900 meters above sea level). It contributes the wine with hints of mineral and strong distinction.
Hand-harvested in their aromatic maturity, in boxes of 15 kilograms, the clusters were selected in the same deposit they were vatted, with a daily partial treading until the beginning of the fermentation, acompained by manual shaking during the natural fermentation. The run off was made fourteen days after; from the beginning of October 2007 to May 13, 2009, the wine remained in it original barrels with a fortnightly topping up. They were a total of ten new barrels from different origins, mainly french forests, with a long dried up and very deep and high toast. This toast was slow but not at excessive temperature.
VISUAL: Dark red colour, with lively and bright purple glints.
NOSE: Different bouquet. Up-front scents evolve into a bouquet of dry rose petals, all surrounded by hints of the ‘tinto fino’ grape variety from Ribera del Duero.
PALATE: Elegant and deep. Well balanced but still strong, it conqueres for it freshness and energy, and it ends with a harmony sensation that invites you to continue drinking.
